URGENT MEMORANDUM

TO:           Fayette County High School parents and the Fayette Community

FROM:    Dr. Jeremy Madden, FCHS Principal

DATE:     May 15, 2018

REF:        Contingency plans for graduation

Congratulations on your child's 2018 graduation from Fayette County High School! We look forward to seeing you at our commencement ceremony this week. As you are aware, the National Weather Center is predicting thunderstorms and extensive amounts of rainfall for most of the state beginning tonight through Saturday

Obviously, we have no control over the weather, so we will plan accordingly. As for now, FCHS graduation will continue as planned. Graduation will be held this coming Friday night at 8:00 pm at John Morgan Brown Stadium.

Because the extended forecast includes heavy rain for several days, there is a possibility that graduation could be moved to the FCHS gym (only if necessary). If graduation is held in the gym, each senior will receive 15 armbands for their family and guests. Doors to the gym will open from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm only for guests with armbands. After 7:30 pm, all guests will be allowed entry until capacity is reached in the gym. All pertinent information will be posted on Twitter, Facebook, and the FCHS website as quickly as possible. A schoolcast will also be sent to parents.

For questions please contact the school at (205) 932 6313 or email Dr. Jeremy Madden at jmadden@fayette.k12.al.us
